Materials and finishes

Movement is part of the design

Before selecting a brand or accessory, we establish what moves, how much it carries and the clearance in front. Fittings follow that brief.

Hinged doors

Opening angle, weight and a nearby wall affect hinge choice and gaps between fronts.

Drawers

Runners are selected for width, depth and load. A shallow cutlery drawer and a pan drawer make different demands.

Sliding and lift systems

The mechanism must fit inside the unit and allow access for adjustment and maintenance.

Interior organisation

Shoe racks, trays and dividers are added where they make use simpler, rather than to fill a catalogue of extras.

What to ask for in a quote

The model or at least range and purpose of major fittings should be identified. “Soft close” alone says little about load, travel or adjustment.

The door sets the brief

A tall heavy front may need a different hinge configuration from a small one. We size the full assembly before choosing the mechanism.

Fitting and adjustment

Adjusting doors and drawers after installation is part of the work. We also leave access for any later regulation.

Not always. We decide by use, weight and preference; comfortable opening matters more than adding a feature by default.

Can fittings on existing furniture be changed?＋

Sometimes. Hole positions, dimensions and the supporting board must be checked before compatibility can be promised.

How is a drawer runner chosen?＋

By size, load, travel and opening method. Drawer construction and runner are planned together.
